A sure sign of insanity

I’m going to try to do NaNoWriMo again this year. Last year was a horrible failure. The year before was a success.

Anyone else brave/foolish enough to join me in writing a 50,000 word novel during the month of November?

  1. Yeah.

I signed up. In a fit of misguided enthusiasm. Can’t you feel my eagerness just…bursting at the seams?

If I go out of my mind in November, I will…uh…sue the Internet. Or something.

  2. I think we should all sue the internets. Up with people! Down with html!

I think we have to work on our slogan.

Do you have an idea for yon book?

  3. I have been thinking about it again this year. Last year I signed up and totally failed. But I had a lot on my mind.

This year I’d like to give it a go and maybe consider something in the fantasy/YA end of things… it’s a tall order though isn’t it?

  4. Eh, well, html pays some of my wages. So I can’t really diss it too heavily. Maybe we can come up with an ambiguous slogan.

As for an idea…nope. Nothing. Zero. Zip. Zilch. Nada. Nichego.

    Can I unsign up?

And do you have an idea for yours?

  5. Cailleach, I crashed and burned last year after breezing through the year before. Now I can’t remember what was going on, but I think it had to do with Steve’s father’s death. It’s all a haze. Fantasy/YA? Me too!

CM, Up with people! Down with the minions of Cthulhu! Hrm. You can unsign up, but it’s fun. Really. I wouldn’t lie. Well, I would lie, but not about this. I’m going to start a YA sf/fantasy book I’ve been thinking about for years. All I know so far is that it’ll be in first person, which might be a challenge. But I do love first person.

  6. Julie, I’m not planning to unsign up. That was a misguided attempt at humour. I’m actually rather excited about it.

Of course, the newness and shininess of the whole idea may wear off once I start, but what the hell: I need to be more open to giving myself opportunities to crash and burn.

As for your NaNo, if you’ve been thinking about it for years, how come you don’t know anything about it except that it’s first person? I’m baffled.
