Up until a couple of months ago, I thought pineapples grew on trees.
Like coconuts.
I have no excuse.

They don’t grow on trees?
ps.
pine + apple = tree fruit assumption LOL
Me too – so I’ll guess I’ll google that… Nice explanation jilly
I second jilly…
Whahuh? What do you mean they don’t grow on trees? What about all those tropical visions I had about pineapples swaying in warm breezes from their lofty perches in palm trees?
Next I bet you’re going to tell me the moon’s not made of green cheese! What is the world coming to?

Don’t be silly; everyone knows they grow on bedposts
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE!!!
hyuk hyuk hyuk …
*picks self up off floor, brushes off chow lint, chokes, gurgles, asphyxiates self on smothered giggles*
pine… glurgle, hic
trees … glub giggle glurk
The only reason I know they don’t is because my husband grew up in Hawaii.
I only got it wrong once.
I think you’re doing OK – I read that about thirty percent of children these days don’t actually know that food grows in the ground (they think it comes already packaged from the supermarket)
I didn’t know that either.
bedposts, huh. 😉
I too thought they grew on trees. Do they grow in the ground? On a bush? Does anyone have any idea how they (growers)grow mini-corn that you find in Asian food?
Lulu,
They come from mini corn fields of course. We have lots of the bigger variety here in Colorado, I think the mini corn fields must be in another state.
